My 50s have been the best decade of my life, hands down. As I approach 59, I can honestly say that I’ve experienced more personal and professional growth in these years than ever before, and I owe it all to fitness. Once my children were grown, I knew it was time to reclaim my life and focus on myself again. At 50, I dove into training, became a certified personal trainer, and even opened my own personal training business. Then, at 57, I took the plunge and competed in an all-natural bodybuilding competition for the first time—and won 1st place as a debut competitor!
This journey hasn’t just transformed my own life; it’s changed the lives of countless clients who now live as happier, healthier versions of themselves. When I think of what a fit lifestyle brings, one word comes to mind: empowerment. There’s a sense of strength and confidence that goes beyond the gym—it’s the kind that empowers you to go places and achieve things you once thought were out of reach.
As a trainer, I dig deep to understand my clients on a personal level so I can help them break through whatever barriers are holding them back. We’re a team, and I’m with them every step of the way because I’ve been there myself. I bring a lot of positive energy and enthusiasm to the table, which keeps me motivated and on top of my game. I’ve faced my own setbacks, like losing my training studio to a fire, but I didn’t let it break me. I firmly believe in manifesting positivity; when you do, good things follow. It’s all about building that mind-body-soul connection.
Looking ahead, my goal is to continue this incredible journey and become the face of fitness for women over 40. I want to show every woman out there that you can overcome anything, even menopause, and still come out strong, fit, and confident. I want to be a fitness model, spokesperson, and ambassador for all women who believe it’s never too late to start. Bring it all on—I’m ready for it!
